If you’re a regular reader, you will be aware of my love of sushi. Some health problems I’ve had this year have meant I have had to cut all kinds of foods out of my diet – but thankfully not rice or fish – so I have relied on Japanese-style eating more than ever.

My sister and I spotted this very cool print recently and she encouraged me to buy it for my new flat. I listened to her partly because she knows all about art, but mainly because I love it. The shop where I found it is a treasure trove of contemporary art and design and is overflowing with limited edition prints, textiles, jewellery, huge pots of badges, covetable ceramics and quirky cards.

The print is by Peskimo. Check out their work here, I think it’s pretty fabulous.

Since you’re having a Japanese period, you /have/ to check out “cookingwithdog” ‘s channel at Youtube. It’s not what you think, but some rather cool (and bizarrely presented) japanese kitchen technique. I can recommend watching the gyoza, the shabushabu, the chawanmushi and, most interestingly, the japanese take on spaghetti ‘napolitan’. Rivetting watching, and they’re still coming out!
